The Future is Bright. Don't Miss It!
August is almost here and with that comes school preparations. In student ministry, school marks the beginning of the year. The beginning of the school year is like our New Years. I love new beginnings. It is a special time where we can let go of the past and move forward towards the future. It is a time to try new things and to start over again. In order to move forward one must let go of the past. A person can not carry the past into the future without dwarfing the future. The "new" requires the "old" to leave. Otherwise, it's not "new". And in many churches today the people are too hung up on the past that they never let the future be bright. Christians tend to have a hard time moving their focus from the "rear-view-mirror" of life, always looking at what God DID, never fully understanding that God STILL wants to do more. And everybody knows that if you drive a car too far while constantly looking in the rear-view mirror it won't be long until you have a terrible wreck. Let's make plans to move past the past and move forward to a bright, God-honoring future!
