What has God asked you to do today?

God was leading our church to go to Ecuador for it’s first foreign mission trip ever. We knew we were called to go. We just didn’t know where the money was going to come from. One of the ladies who was planning on going talked to my pastor about doing a rummage sale. The pastor and I were not on board for that! Rummage sales typically are a lot of work with a bunch of junk and little return on investment. So we just said we would pray about that.

Literally, a few days later a lady from the Dallas area called our church and said, “I saw on your website you were going to Ecuador this summer. You guys wouldn’t be doing a rummage sale for a fund raiser would you?”

My pastor said, “Well, actually, a lady mentioned something about it but we didn’t really have plans to do it. Why?”

The lady informed us that she had a piece of property in our county she was selling. She had two large storage containers full of stuff she wanted to donate to our church for this rummage sale. She ultimately donated tons of stuff, some of it was junk but a lot of it was really good stuff. Tools, antiques, two old trucks, two golf carts, a boat, a tractor, one of the storage units, etc.

We ended up raising over $20,000 in a two-day period! What has God asked you to do today? God is faithful! Make no excuses! God will do what he says he’ll do!
